Patrick to Host Peabody Awards
Sir Patrick Stewart will be the host of the 71st Annual George Foster Peabody Awards ceremony on May 21, 2012 at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City. “Patrick Stewart, the first actor to host the Peabody Awards Presentation Luncheon, brings a career that perfectly illustrates the breadth of the Peabody Award,” said Horace Newcomb, director of the Peabody Awards at the University of Georgia.
The Peabodys, the oldest awards in broadcasting, are considered among the most prestigious and selective prizes in electronic media. The Peabody Awards recognize excellence and meritorious work by radio and television stations, networks, webcasters, producing organizations and individuals. The 16-member Peabody Board is a distinguished panel of television critics, industry practitioners and experts in culture and the arts. Selection is made by the Board following review by special screening committees of UGA faculty, students, and staff.
Patrick To Host New Series For National Geographic
Sir Patrick Stewart is to front a new series for Nat Geo that explores the incredible powers of survival harnessed by some of the world’s deadliest animals. The 3 x 60-minute series Animal Superpowers will investigate creatures such as shape-shifting octopuses, which change the colour of their skin in an instant, and salamanders that can regrow lost limbs. The series premieres on Nat Geo Wild on June 3, 2012. It comprises a mix of location filming, following scientists as they track the animals, and CGI animation to get an inside look at the creatures’ anatomy and biology. Stewart hosts the series in an immersive CGI-enhanced ‘animal ark’, that allows him to interact with virtual models of the creatures.
Patrick To Receive Matador Award from Red Bull Theater
Red Bull Theater has announced that Patrick Stewart will receive this year's Matador Award For Excellence In Classical Theater at their 4th Annual Running Of The Red Bulls Benefit on June 4, 2012 at The Bowery Hotel in NYC. Red Bull Theater is dedicated to the rediscovery of neglected classics, and to the development of new plays of heightened language and classical themes. Tickets

Patrick To Race in 2012 Silverstone Classic Celebrity Challenge
Sir Patrick Stewart will be one of the celebrity drivers taking part in the 2012 Silverstone Classic Celebrity Challenge. The race, which will take place on July 21, 2012 at the world’s biggest classic car racing festival, will see an all-star line-up competing in 130mph Morgan lightweight race cars around the famous Silverstone Grand Prix circuit. Other drivers will include Chemmy Alcott, Brendan Cole, Kelvin Fletcher, Tony Hirst and Steve Bull. Of his chance to race again, Patrick said, "I’ve raced once before, in a pro-celebrity event on the Long Beach Grand Prix circuit in California – but that was ten years ago. I’ve been in retirement since then! When the chance to drive a great British sportscar here at Silverstone came up… well, what could be better? It was just irresistible. I’m looking forward to it immensely.”
Patrick Voices Role in Dorothy of Oz 
Sir Patrick Stewart will voice the role of Tugg, a humorous adventure-seeking talking tree turned talking tugboat, in the animated feature Dorothy of Oz which will be released on August 3, 2012. In Dorothy of Oz, Dorothy has returned to Kansas, but found it devastated by the same tornado that had taken her to Oz. As a result of the damage, townspeople are moving away. But before Dorothy has time to react to this, she is whisked back to Oz, where the people need her help. Details and Interview
