9/27/2009 The Shape of the World Now Available on DVD

The Shape of the World, an epic tale of mapmaking the globe, narrated by Patrick Stewart is now available on DVD. This six-part documentary, originally shown on PBS, traces the history of mapmaking from crude clay tablets to sophisticated electronic screens. NASA scientists explain throughout history, maps have served as symbols of wealth and power, tools of conquest and subjugation, and instruments to save lives.
